Bob & Sunni Knight
parents of the groom
Sunni (Gertrude) Harvey married Bob (Robert) Knight in 1979 and reside in Silver Spring, MD with Nora and Riptide, two Norwich Terriers.  Bob is a native of Madison WI.  The Harvey’s, from Chicago (with a detour in East Lansing, MI), met him in Milwaukee, WI.  There they joined forces and moved to the DC area when Bob took a job on Senator Gaylord Nelson’s staff.  After Senator Nelson’s retirement, Bob became Executive Director of the National Association of Private Industry Councils (NAPIC).  He is currently a Labor Lobbyist at ResCare, Inc., a private company devoted to operating Job Corps sites.  Sunni retired in 2008 from the Department of Health and Human Services in the most rewarding job of her working career – namely the Family Violence Prevention and Service Program (FVPSA). In retirement, Sunni has maintained and furthered her love affair with travel. During, and post, employment, she’s currently marked off her list: Japan, Brazil, Argentina, Hawaii, Senegal, Ghana, Ivory Coast, South Africa, Egypt, Dubai, Alaska and London (thanks to Alia the 2nd time), and is already packing for a very special trip to the Dominican Republic come Spring.
